I Dream of July

Mickey & Me
I leave tomorrow…

So 4th of July weekend has come and gone. Live 8 seemed to be the big hub bub this weekend in the world and I’ll admit I got sucked into the coverage. I will say though that Philadelphia got the short end of the stick in terms of performers. Live 8 London was clearly the place to be. This weekend was also move in weekend for Crystal. We got her 85% settled into her new place. So that was good. For the 4th of July we hit up the Camden Riversharks game down at Campbell’s Field on the Camden Waterfront. It was a good baseball game and the fireworks afterwords were great. I also got to ride the Riverline for the first time and that was quite an experience as well. For those of you not familiar with the Riverline, the Riverline is the brainchild of former NJ Governor Jim McGreevy; it is probably the most useless train line ever conceived in the world. Its a train track that runs from Trenton to Camden along the Delaware river. See how useless it is? This is pretty much McGreevy’s crowning achievement of his administration. Thanks Jim…

Leeds Brita
Anyway you may remember my post the other day about the people who filtered shitty vodka into a Brita in hopes of making it taste better. Well Crystal and I did the experiment ourselves this weekend and what happened…

Leeds Brita 2
…It actually worked. 4 times through, just like they said, and sure enough the Vodka was pretty damn good. We used good old LEEDS vodka, which took me back to my days back in the Dorm with Chris, where we would keep a bottle of Leeds in the freezer for our friends who did not like beer but apparently Leeds was good enough. Anyway, we ran the Leeds through the Brita filter 4 times and it became practically tasteless and mixed well with Red Bull and was good enough for Crystal to do shots of. So I tell you, pick up a Brita ($15) and a shitty bottle of Vodka ($10 or less) and you will have great vodka for the night and once you buy that Brita all you will have to do is buy the shitty vodka and you will be in business, ultimately saving yourself $20-$30 per bottle of vodka…

The Who: The Ultimate Collection
I bought this CD. I’ve listened to Disc 1 and I’ve only enjoyed a few songs. I’ve 4 songs into Disc 2 and I enjoy 3 out of the 4 I’ve heard so far. Lets hope The Who live up to their namesake…

The Stooges
This is next on my Classic Rock purchase list…

Tweedles
I still hate these fuckers…
Well tomorrow I leave for Orlando. I’ll be in the air around 6:15 PM and be touching ground at around 8:30 PM. Obviously I will not be able to post at all but I will try to via phone. I hope to have some pictures and stuff for you when I return. Don’t miss me too much. See you when I get back…

Till next time… “They call me The Seeker…I’ve been searching low and high…I won’t get to get what I’m after…Till the day I die…”

  1. Leeds vodka is the worst drink ever. Someone brought it to the house junior year and it tasted like rubbing alcohol. I don’t trust anything in a plastic, plaible bottle.

  2. That Who cd is great.

also, i am SOOOO trying the vodka thing. I hate the taste of vodka but it is seriously one of the only drinks that gets me drunk (or “crunked” as the kids are saying), anymore. Somehow my body has built an immunity to alcohol. maybe i need to come over to your house on halloween and barf all over you house again?
